The journey begins
My experience with single-board computers began in 2014 with a standard Raspberry Pi Model B running a Kodi media layer.
With the release of the Raspberry Pi 2, I upgraded to this more powerful system-on-chip (SoC), and later transitioned to a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B to further enhance performance.
During this period, I discovered the HiFiBerry audio modules and acquired the HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro.
This upgrade significantly improved the audio quality of my setup, providing a reliable solution that met my high-fidelity audio requirements for several years.
Birth of the M-Audio Player
As my technical experience grew, I sought to build a more advanced and capable audio player.
This led to the creation of the M-Audio Player, based on a Raspberry Pi 4 combined with a HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro.
The HiFiBerry DAC was essential, as the native audio capabilities of the Raspberry Pi are insufficient for high-fidelity applications.
By integrating the DAC, I was able to transform the Raspberry Pi into a high-quality network audio player, delivering excellent sound performance suitable for audiophile use.
The final M-Audio Player
